I don't know where to start. Every August my hot water stops Working. Nothing trips nothing has tripped resulting in any power Being lost that couid change the water. But now I can't get it back on. I'm a single mum with two kids (4 and 18 months) I can't afford a plumber. The Hot water works used to work for timed programme but the hot water hasnt worked on boost For a long Time. If I try Boast the water will always be cold.

The water system is controlled by a horstmann electric 7. The power supply works. The lights are on. Everything comes on. The water just doesn't heat up. I've Spent hours and hours and hours trying to resolve this.

Within the immersion heater, I've turned off the power supply to reset the thermostat. There seems no reset button. The temperature has been changed to plus. The water just wont heat up. I've Added Some pics and. To confirm again I've always got power supply Off when playing around with immersion heater. I took the stuff off to identify reset button with screwdriver but there is nothing

Do you own the property, or is it rented?

Do you own a multimeter? Do you have any friends who might own a multimeter and be willing to help?

Could be the immersion heater element, as it appears to be the only method of heating the water. Is it a hard water area? It should be serviced/repaired by a G3 registered engineer as it’s an unvented cylinder.

I note there seems to be an upper and lower unit, so would expect some method to switch between the two.
The lower heating element may not be heated outside of the cheap night rate times but the upper element should be available for maybe 24/7 but certainly should be available outside the cheap night time rate.

The OP might also clarify the statement "Every August my hot water stops Working".

Thank you, @jj4091 it is interesting as to what the unit does, not quite as complex as my iboost+ but getting close to it. Now we have to wait and see what @KittenInHouse says, I have not seen any pictures of a controller. There does seem some questions having read the instructions, but don't want to muddy the water.

Thanks the replies so far.

So the top immersion heater is for the boost water setting. The bottom immersion heater is for the regular hot water supply. In my head it's like two water supplies. In an Ideal world you Set the programme for timed boost (can do three) in middle of night (hot water in morning) then a top up boost in afternoon. The boost immersion heater hasn't worked since forever so hot water has always come From timed water. The horstmann electric 7 works fine lights on power on water heater on but I don't or Cant check voltage.

My Hot tap in my Sink is not producing any water and I wonder if air bubbles are stuck in the pipes? I got air bubbles from the hot tap but I was told this was unrelated. I would like to increase the water supply to the boiler but don't know how to do it.

I think the immersion element is gone kettle for baths for kids it makes me think to myself to be train as a Gas engineer

This is the most annoying thing of all. A stupid reset button that doesn't exist I've also increased temperature to max.

I do worry water tank is empty. Why 9t goes off late August maybe not related but I always go on holiday and when I come. Back do lots of washing don't think washing machine would impact hot water?

Can't see the bottom terminal of the red wire in your pics. The easiest way to repair will be to replace that length of red wire and the terminals if the bottom one hasn't burnt away. See if you can gently remove it.
Perhaps something like this may fit but you would need to ask them for dimensions ( length and CSA ) and confirm what that bottom terminal is.
