Hi all. New to the forum so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I arrived here after finding the below thread:

https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/...just-started-to-make-a-whirring-noise.115476/

We have an Ideal boiler in the house, and to be fair has been active for 12 years so I guess I've had some mileage.

My engineer bloke had a look and diagnosed that the fan was burned out, or rather the motor on top of the fan. The motor was roasting hot and impossible to touch and I'm assuming that because of this the boiler isn't firing?

The only thing we aren't sure of is how to identify the correct replacement, if it's a series 1, 2 or three etc.

I found this part which LOOKS identical but I'm not 100%.

Thank you!

Thanks, however that forum looks to be limited?

Yes it's only available to registered gas engineers or retired gas engineers. You're asking about a part on a boiler which relates to gas advice and forms part of the combustion circuit. I know you have an engineer, so get him to ask on combustion chamber part, gas advice and confirming a part might open a can of worms as it's being asked on a public forum.
