Ancient thread, but for anyone searching for a what is probably a common solution to this problem like I was, this might be useful..... Wall shower mixer non-return valve on hot feed had build up of debris, and because of the design of the mixer, the shower tap was downstream. This meant that the cold feed could flow unimpeded inside the mixer into the hot water piping 24 hours a day. New mixer with integrated tap solved the problem.
No Hot Water to tap Unless I turn on the Cold tap too!
