Hi.

We just moved home and the previous owner had lost the patio door key.

Is there any easy fix to get a new key or do we need to get a locksmith in? Photo attached.

Hi no there isn’t. There is a latch lever. I’ve attached a new image so you can see.

Are you able to open the patio door?

Hi. I am not able to open the patio door unfortunately

I am pretty good at diy but never anything lock related. I imagine I could unscrew the lock to allow the door to open but I wouldn’t know how to replace the lock. Any tips?

Just undoing the screws will remove the handle, the lock would have to be snapped, and the turned in the middle to open it, then new Euro barrel fitted, and handle re-fitted. Been a while since I’ve seen one done, so could have missed a step there.

Ok cheers Chris. We need to get the front door lock replaced anyway so I’ll probably get a locksmith in to do both.
