I replaced a basin waste at the weekend (with a spinning one), and the new one didn't come with a blanking nut for where the old chain was removed, which has left a hole.

Does anyone know what the correct term for this is, and where to buy them from?

I say them, as I have another one to fit next weekend. Another question, the thread on the new waste is 11mm shorter than the old one. I just managed to get the trap attached to the new one with a bit of wrestling, but is there any better way to do this. The trap pipes seem to be fixed lengths?

I've seen me cutting some height off the trap nut when coming across that issue. It is rare though and tends to be where your fitting new wastes onto older basins that have thicker waste throats.
