No seeing general discussions

For quite a while, the "general" sub subsection has been (occasionally) toxic/diversive. I am not directly commenting on any posts made by fellow forum members.

Is there any way of hiding them when I click on "new posts"?

I come here to impart my knowledge, and to learn from others (with regards to DIY related topics).

Fair comment, but some days they, the general ones, can be over half of the page.

Yes I believe this to be possible, but it would be achieved by removing your permission to access the GD forum, so as long as you were happy not to access GD permanently then I can do that.

Give me some time to see if something more flexible can be achieved to allow you to switch on and off at will.

There is a now an option to hide the General discussion forum. You can switch on/off at will. One thing to note, it does take up to 30mins to reflect any change you have made.
