Hi,

Last night one of the cold water taps in the bathroom left open which effectively drained the water tank in the loft. Now there is no water in home even in the kitchen taps which should have water coming from the main source?

I have checked with our water suppliers and there is no problems externally. Could the opened tap from last night drained the water tank in the loft and caused it to air lock? How to fix it?

Urgent help needed as no water at all at home!!

Many thanks

airlock in the pipes...nothing serious, but best avoided as you are finding out...

I think it would be a good idea to see if the loft tank is actually filling?
And yes, the kitchen tap at the very least should come from the mains.
John :)

No the loft tank is not filling and no water in the kitchen tap either. Looks like external problem but Thames Water are suggesting there is none. Let me check with neighbours :)

You should check your outside stopcock.

You have glossed over how the tap was left on.

Seems unlikely but if the house was empty and water was running but someone might have turned off street stopcock.
