Mornin!

Came to have a bath earlier to find that there was no water in bath or sink taps. Bloke had just had a bath fine, but my turn and sods law, this happens!

I've got a 8 year old house with a large header tank in the loft which is normally full.

Boiler is an Ideal Classic if that's of any relevance? Heating is fine. This has happened once before, but some months ago an i just thought it was having an off day... I've looked and it is refilling, but that's gonna take all day! In the meantime - i'm gonna have to stink at work! NICE!!!

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanx for any replies!

If pressure at kitchen cold tap is ok then your float valve in the cold water cistern (the big tank) is probably blocked.

In the cold water storage tank, probably in the loft if you have one.

Ok if you know where the tank is & you can get to it, take the lid off. The ball valve could be stuck up, it should fall with the water level, if it has fallen try lifting it & letting down a few times valve may have just got jammed.

Tank did fill up whilst i was at work, as expected, but the ball valve seems fine. So...any further ideas as to what the prob might be? Thanks for replies so far though!

bit o` grit partially blocking the ballvalve oriface
