I am replacing an old shower tray with a stone resin shower tray. The old shower tray was sitting on a standard 22mm chipboard (which has been used across the bathroom). I now intend to replace the 22mm subfloor for the shower section with 18mm marine plywood, applied straight above the joists.
My question is mostly about securing the edge of the plywood next to the wall. The bathroom wall is sitting right above a joist, but I do not have access to the top part of that wall joist.
Should I screw supporting battens on the side of the wall joist to support the edge of the plywood? or use multiple noggins between the two joists instead? (the length of the new tray is 2000mm).
