In 2004 some local plumbers with a good reputation came to install a new combi boiler and my underfloor heating system. After a couple of years of other projects and some family problems I came to look at the heating system and found there seemed to be a motorised port valve missing from the radiator section of my central heating. I phoned the plumbers and they installed it the same day.

However since then, the pipework underneath the floorboards has been clicking and I don't think the radiators are heating up as much as they could do (as much as I remember when the motorised port valve wasn't there).

Do these two symptoms have a remedy?

Could be the room sat is now shutting the valve before the rads get as hot as they used to, or even the boiler stat is set lower.
