noise from toilet

every time I flush the toilet, it makes a loud fog horn like noise, I have to run a tap for a little while to stop it, I suspect it's a air blockage some where,but I am not sure, am I correct and how do I fix the problem?

i tapped the ball valve with a hammer, problem fixed thanks

When you say "tapped it with a hammer", what exactly did you tap?

Our toilet also makes some vibrating/fog horn type sounds whilst flushing. Not sure what to do about it.

What are we looking for and what do we do to remedy the situation?
