Noise in my pipes!

:cry: I seem to have some sort of problem in my pipes work in that when the upstairs loo is flushed the cold pipe work makes a horrible groaning noise.It only does with the one loo and you can feel vibration on the cold pipe leading down stairs to the stop cock end.It does not do it all the time but enough to be heard in all the house.Any ideas please cheers

its water hammer you need a pressure reducing valve or a torbec type ballvalve
 
Try replacing the ballvalve or ballvalve washer in the ball valve first ;)
