We recently had a leak on our central heating pipework fixed.

The plumber switched off the mains, drained down the system...... as normal

Although the central heating system is now working as good as gold, every time we flush the loo or switch off a cold tap the cold water pipes vibrate quite noisily for a couple of seconds - this did not happen previously.

Could you please advise what the problem is likely to be/how it can be sorted out.

Thank you.

he probably turned of the mains stopcock to drain the central heating and turn it back on fully, you have water hammer and i bet someone in the past turned the stopcock down to stop this

try that
