My kitchen tap started making a weird noise on the hot water the last 3 days. What could it be?
See here
There is no pump in the water mains.

I doubt it's that, as it's only on hot water.

I don't follow??

The tap mechanism is obviously the cause of the noise, the tap mechanism is the cartridge.....

You have one tap cartridge for the hot supply, another for the cold. Strip the hot tap cartridge out, and soak it in lemon juice, acetic acid, or kettle descaler.

Sorry, misunderstood, I thought you meant to take off the cap and soak it, to remove calcium deposits etc.

These are cheap taps, I have replaced many of them, not worth trying to replace any parts.
