Noisy bathroom fan

Thanks. The anti vibration mounts may be the thing. Gonna go with Envirovent I think

I find them excellent. You can get them with a run-on timer which I think is ideal fir a bathroom or WC.

If you have steamy showers, a 100mm fan is not really enough.

The fan in the gents' in my local pub recently became noisy after a year. I removed the front cover and blades. I then noticed that the two machine screws running from the back to front (captive nuts) had become loose. I tightened them and it was as quiet as when first fitted.

I removed the exhaust grill, peeled back the plastic cover over the screws and tightened them.

It is worthwhile checking before replacing it.

I found Fantronix from the well known South American rain forest to be quiet reliable and quite a bit cheaper than the vent axia equivalent

Putting a gasket of 2mm foam/rubber between the fan and the plasterboard is very effective, same for all fans/extractors because the boards it is mounted on add a lot of low freq noise.
But this is probably a different type of noise than the one you are talking about.
I remember the Envirovent getting good reviews.

I was recently recommended purple threadlock for screws that you may occasionally need to remove.

I had some screws come loose in a lock I had serviced 20 years ago. I had to wash out residual oil from the holes with brake cleaner. It's possible thick nickel grease would have been better (I use it now on Stainless)

The landlord has made me work after 5 pints in the past...

If I need to fix something when there are no punters I do it from 7am on a Wednesday. It is pipe cleaning day. The pipes hold 2 pints so rather than binning it, he will give me two pints of Kronenbourg.
