Today we have started experiencing a very loud noise (which continues for some time, until the tap is turned on again) when the water taps are turned off. When the taps are turned back on the noise stops again.

The only thing that has changed recently is 2 taps replaced about 2 weeks ago. The noise has only just started though.

Any ideas???

They are indeed! What can I do to make the noise stop please?

Thanks for your suggestions. The pipes come out of the kitchen wall then go onto a flexible braided hose to the tap. Have tried the slow turning off and it doesn't help :(

Water hammer. Fit water hammer arrester. Either that, or show restraint when closing taps, as suggested above.
