We have lived in our current property for two years and have a problem with noisy pipes in the ceiling. It first happened when we first moved in but over the winter it stopped - only to return this Spring. It has become worse in recent weeks and now the pipes begin to make noise almost as soon as we turn on a tap (sometimes the noise goes by turning taps on and off but not always?!) This evening it took 5 minutes to stop.

We are a ground floor flat and have a combi boiler so do not have a water tank. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks for the replies.

The noise is a really loud humming or vibrating and it seems to happen for either tap?

After investigation it seems that it is the cold that is the problem - particularly when or after the hot is on.

Help please...
