Noisy Pump

We have a pump on the floor of the airing cupboard which feeds 2 showers but never at the same time (if that is relevant) and which is very, very, noisy. There is a bedroom either side of the cupboard separated in each case by a plasterboard cavity wall. It is impossible to sleep in either room if one of the showers is up and running. Three of the four pipes attached to the pump are clipped to the wall separating the airing cupboard from one of the bedrooms.
If I filled both cavities with, for example, something like vermiculite, would this go any way towards cutting down the noise? Or is there a better way?

As I may have mentioned previously, at the end of each of the 4 x 22mm copper pipes there is a thinner flexible hose connecting the pipe to the actual pump. I have not mentioned that there is no flexibility in these pipes because the plumber hasn’t left enough space to allow flexibility. There is no room for any movement. Could this cause the excessive noise and if so would pipes having enough space to be truly flexible, reduce the vibration and therefore the noise?

1. Techflow was acquired by Stuart Turner around 2010.
2. I doubt it is the pipework transmitting the noise. Even if there is little longitudinal room for the flexi pipes, they are still made of rubber which tends to be sound deadening.
3. If you were able to move the base of the pump to the left, you might have room to get a piece of paving slab underneath, with a bit of old carpet inverted under the slab.

Sorry for the delay! Two weeks ago, finally called in a plumbing company and their top man later arrived and almost immediately diagnosed the pump as the problem being too old and requiring replacement. He suggested a Salamander CT75 Xtra and today the another plumber arrived to do the job. After a couple of hours he was finished and guess what? The new pump is noisier than the old one but more importantly, when I turn on the shower tap, the pump doesn’t start up until 40 seconds or so and the plumber admitted that he had no idea why this is. I’m not really worried because the company come highly recommended and I’ve no doubt that they will sort things out. Meanwhile any thoughts guys?

I hate to say it but theres a reason the Salamander pump is £175 and the Stuart Turner pump suggested above is £450

Stuart Turner Monsoon range pumps are very well engineered with brass bodied pumps

however you salamander pump shouldnt be too noisy -could you post a pic

Your installer may be highly recommended but salamander pumps ain't the best been going downhill for years..
Clear pictures of said install would be useful especially hot connection.
What hight is base of tank from pump?

Any good?

Oh my - company came highly recommended and that's their top guy?? I'm not surprised it's rattling the house down. Installing a pump needs a certain amount of expertise, experience and understanding of the environment and TBH that all seems to be lacking there. I really am at a loss at to where these companies get their reputations from. Wonder what's under the floor too, did they even check - another void possibly? All these spaces amplify any noise that the pump may make.

It will take a fair bit of work in and around the pump to quieten that install down, that and their choice of pump, as has been suggested, isn't the best either.
