Hi, I wonder if I can ask for some expert advice. We have an 8mm microbore system with double entry valves. Generally works well -traditional Glow-worm boiler. However, the boiler gets a bit noisy, which I think is probably scale. because the pipework and manifolds were buried in the screed (Doncha love builders?) I am very reluctant to use an acid descaler in case it is too aggressive and exposes (inaccessible) leaks in the installation. Are there products which can do the job without causing problems?

I've also been advised that a cup of fairy liquid when refillng the header tank can help. Any advice will be most welcome. Thanks.
Geoff

Don't do that it's corrosive (chlorides). Try proprietary Boiler Silencer - not heard of it causing any problems.
