noisy washer

hi for the past few days my washing machine which is a bauchtnecht has started making a very loud grating noise when the water is draining any ideas as to what could be causing it please many thanks

Pull out the pump filter and check that there's nothing in there.
If it's clean and clear, suspect the pump being faulty.

Yep, that's the one. The one you clean out regularly

If you can reach the impellor of the pump give a turn with your finger/pencil and see if it's loose or broken.
