Hi guys, I hope somebody can help on this one, my central heating went off last night, boiler seems to working fine but there is a screaching noise coming from the water pump and pipes running from it are luke warm to cold, have turned it off for now not wanting to do any damage. Any ideas?

Check for water in expansion tank.

Thanks Andy, I have done that as I cleared out some silt in there on saturday.
Remove the large screw from centre of pump, does the pump spin when turned on? with it move with the help of a screw driver?

I did that last night and yes the pump is spinning and a few drops of water appeared at the opening, does this mean anything?
You might have a blocked feed, (test the feed from the loft, normally 150mm from the pump.) Use a magnet and see if it sticks to the pipe work.
