I'm fitting a large porcelain tile behind a small cloakroom washbasin as a splashback. Whoever fitted the previous similar setup smeared an unnecessarily huge amount of adhesive all over the back of the tile, too far in for me to cut through with a blade or multitool, with the result that I had to smash the tile and pull away half the (heavy plasterboard) wall to remove it. Making that good was a pain. This time I'd like to use something around the edges of the tile which is strong enough to stop it falling forward (most of its weight will anyway be taken by the basin it rests on) but can be removed in future without drama. Indeed the bead of silicone sealant I'll put round the top and sides may be enough by itself, but I'd not want to rely on it. Any suggestions for a non-setting or otherwise just-strong-enough adhesive? I've come across Soudal Butyrub but have no experience with it.

Tiles are installed so they can’t fall off , not with the intention of making them easy to remove.

I've used rare earth magnet on a tile so it was easy access with a suction cup.
I stuck magnet on with two pack wood filler but I guess you can use a polymer.

3 or 4mm thick 20mm magnets will do off eBay. Or similar
