Noob configuration idea for best of both worlds!

Well I was the senior engineer at Intergas for 5 years ;)
In that case, any idea why the Rapid is listed as about 13LPM at 35deg, and the Xtreme is marketed as “XXL” hot water profile “supports 2-3 bathrooms” yet the flow is only “slightly” better at 14.5deg?

If anything in the average house the Xtreme will actually give less DHW than the Rapid.

It has an extra coil in the flue that preheats the incoming cold water before it goes into the heat exchanger which cools the flue gases and gives it great efficiency. However the extra pipework leads to greater resiatance to flow internally so you actually need a more powerful mains supply to make the most of it.

The Xtreme is really there as an answer to getting the best SAP ratings to make it suitable for newbuild. In the real world the Xclusive is just as good and has less to go wrong...

the Rapid is a good boiler but only comes with a three year warranty. For a few hundred more you could get the eco rf. if you fit their filter with it you get 12 years warranty.

something to think about…
