In the meantime I'm still waiting for an answer from joe90 as to whether he still thinks that being a copper is a doddle given the events that happened on the very morning he posted it.
Would you have the bottle to do their job? (he wouldn't)

It's an easy life spent mainly in the tuck shop.

Then you retire early on health grounds.

It would be a doddle.

Yes. By and large it is a doddle. A very safe job. Few die whilst on duty.

Its not just about people dying, on average, a police officer is attacked resulting in injury every hour.
I've been injured a few times by the police, one mate lost his front teeth, my brother received 64 stitches on the head and cracked ribs because of the horses, totally innocent.

The police do not 'injure' people numerous times for no reason......but lets not ask why though eh?

Does not matter what i do or say to the police i should not get beat up.

Why not, do you have that same attitude when meeting anyone else?
Coppers are human, if you tried treating them with a little bit of normal respect you might get a better reaction.

Aye, in fact a lot less than some other professions probably.

3 times in my life I've had coppers coming on a bit strong for the given situation. Each time I remonstrated with them in a reasonable way and got a good outcome. So I speak as I find, though I'm only talking about coppers as individuals. As in any other walk of life there will obviously be bad apples'
When we start talking about the police as an institution, Hillsborough shows how corrupt they can be. I do personally blame the individual coppers that were there on the ground for that, as they had a bad attitude towards Liverpool fans which coloured their reaction. Though I see it more as an institutional scandal.
Moving away from that, ordinary police going about their day to day job are reasonable enough I find, providing you treat them with a little bit of due respect as I said.

The point there was not who's got the most dangerous job, more the fact that the police do routinely have to go into confrontational situations, often with the criminal element.
I wouldn't like to do it, but I'm glad that someone does.

So, it's okay for them to beat people up if they have an attitude??? you serious?
By the way, not all coppers are human, if p.c. harwood had a pair off ball.s he would of held is hands up, he's scum like a lot of police out there.

Don't talk about snico and sooey's hero like that.

That depends on the "attitude" I reckon.
If you weren't such a gobsh*te you might find them more amenable.

Can you keep guard over your daughter/mother/sister 24/7 365 days a year???
I didn't think so. What would you do if there were no police? What would you replace them with?

They are a lot better now that mobile phone cameras are around.
