Aye, in fact a lot less than some other professions probably.

The point there was not who's got the most dangerous job, more the fact that the police do routinely have to go into confrontational situations, often with the criminal element.
I wouldn't like to do it, but I'm glad that someone does.
The point is if they don't want to randomly walk into the odd punch up etc or worse here and there they shouldn't sign up for the job. Because you happen to have chosen not to go down that path is neither here or there.

I'd agree, so perhaps those that do sign up for the job deserve a bit of credit for that.
