Hi
Just wondering any one can help me.
I need some lengths (approximately 10) 3m long and 50x50mm in section.
It doesnt need to be oak but needs to be a bit smarter than roofing batten or grade C16 etc.
can you let me know where I could buy such a thing?
Any help much appreciated.

what exactly is it for ?
50x50 is 2x2" sawn you can get it from your wood yard but will have saw marks/rough surface

I want it to partition off a stair case.
I want to do a kind of stud wall effect but without any plaster board etc.
So it needs to be a bit better than C16 etc I was thinking of oak but any hard wood/ pitch pine might be ok
the actual dims are not important just roughly 2"x2"

Thanks for the reply by the way

smooth timber will roughly 6mm smaller through planing

best bet is to speak to your timber yard as they will know whats in stock
do not go to the diy sheds wicks bxq ect
avoid jewsons and travis perkins unless you get a decent discount
but only a proper wood yard or timber merchant will have any choice

Cheers big all

Ill have to gig out the yellow pages.

As you said jewsons, that I normally use for everything, doesn't do it.
B and Q etc do soft woods or stair parts etc

So ill have a look.

Cheers again
