Oak worktop damp / rot repair

Evening,
I've got an oak worktop which is mouldy and rotten around the tap hole due to water ingress. Tightening the tap isn't possible.
Don't want to replace the worktops ATM so whats the best course of action?

When timber rots its best to cut it out and replace with new timber.

Replace the tap if it leaks .
