obdII sockets

on my corsa 1.0 t reg the fault code soket is different to my obdII code reader, can you buy a conversion piece.

I goggled the paperclip test and it came back saying this test wont work on the x10xen engine. why is that?
the car is 1998 1.0 12v, what is it with this car?

That age of car doesn't have to be OBD 2 compliant, it probably isn't.
