we had hot water and heating...then all of a sudden nothing..went to look at boiler pilot was out and the presure was low..we set the presure back to the green marker then tried to light it up.
the pilot tsayed on then soon as you let go it goes out...????

any help would be great cheers... :cry:

Well this will probably be a thermocouple replacement, you'll need a corgi man for that. There is a possibility that on this model the button that you push in doesn't quite go in far enough. If you undo the 2 scews on the lower case front to drop the bottom flap down, you can push the gas valve button in [plus the micro switch for ignition]. This could well be enough to re establish the pilot. Of course the pilot went out for a reason, so professional help will be needed to know why.

I think the heading shows its an Alpha 240.

The problem is probably either a problem with the pilot flame, the thermocouple or the gas valve.

This is really a job for a CORGI engineer who would check the pilot light, measure the thermocouple output voltage and then probably change the thermocouple as they are fairly cheap and then see if that cures the problem.

The gas valve is quite expensive and is usually the last thing to consider.
