Hello Oh wise men!
I'm refitting an entire kitchen and will be putting in a ceramic hob rated at 6kw. Not sure about the oven yet as I need to sort out the fuse.
The previous set up (new world trash) operated from a 30 amp fuse and a very old looking cooker switch. The consumer board came in with the ark I believe.
My 'plan' is to continue the wire from its present location to the other side of the kitchen into a brand new cooker swith set up. This ensures the two metre rule for both hob and oven.
Now I have read a fair few of the posts on here and have worked out that the 30 amp fuse will not be enough as the ceramic hob has a max of 26 amps alone. Is it possible for me to wire the current 30 amp dedicated line into a modern one piece mcb and increase the rating to 45 amp?
The pictures show a two fuse box (cream and both 20amps) that used to serve to long removed storage heaters. Can I utilize something like that to run the 30 amp cable into therefore keeping the circuit correct but increasing the ampage and making sure my appliances will be safe?
Am I right? Am I deluded?
Advice sought and appreciated!

This is where the old stuff was connected. Looks really 'busy' and old!
