I have an oil boiler with Riello burner. It keeps locking out.
Have had 3 boiler men visit so far - Serviced it, new capacitor fitted, then new photocell, then part of the mechanism resealed and it's the same as when they first came out!
The only way the system stays on is if I take the cover off - however cant leave it off as moisture will get into the controls!
4th visit pending but fed up with issue not being resolved!

Which cover are you talking about.....is it the red box one that encloses the burner?
The boiler make would help too!

Its the outer cover! Not the burner casing - actually only gives the Riello burner RD 3. Model number is 90-140 and GE on the label with the Model no.

There appears to be a problem with the air supply or flueing arrangements.....is this an external boiler?
Do you know if the repair people adjusted the fuel pump pressure, and took an analysis of the flue gases?
John :)
