Basically two types of leccy boilers; Storage & Flowthrough. Most Energy Suppliers will give you a better tariff on a Storeage type electric boiler.
A lot of people use ASHPs & have a log burning stove. A multi fuel stove will burn any old cr.p.
Also, in smaller properties it's not uncommon to just fit a couple of Split Unit AC/Heatpumps. A very inexpensive setup & works a treat;
