Oil fired central heating won't turn on unless I hit reset on the burner itself

I have oil fired central heating in my house, I'll have to double check the make and model. When it turns on and starts working, it heats the house just fine.

It won't turn on when the timer reaches an "on" time or if I hit boost on the timer unit. If I go out to the burner and hit the reset button, it kicks in and heats the house ok.

Nothing has been changed recently, it was off over the summer for a few months and I replaced the nozzle on the suggestion of my father. It did this a few times before the end of the spring, but I didn't think anything of it then.

Would anyone know what else might cause this and if it's something the average person might repair without calling in a handyman?

Could be one of several things including Coil ,Cap, Ign txfr oil supply.
you need more than a handyman.
