jvando - bicarbonate of soda (powder) is a good way of removing 'oily' stains from leather/suede/fabric. The process is a gradual one, so don't expect overnight success.
Method - pile-up the bicarb over the stain and leave to work it's magic, disturb/re-distribute the powder occasionally; maybe use an old toothbrush to 'work' the bicarb on the stain (not too hard!). A few days should do the trick. Although this technique works with 'untreated' stains, I'm not sure how well it'll work post Fairy Liquid. The science of the process is absorption (blotting).
