'Oil' Spots

Hiya,

Had our kitchen re-plastered a while ago now but some spots that look like oil will not go away, despite 6 or 7 coats of paint now.

I'm not sure what to do!

I guess you mean they are showing through the emulsion- if yes then just coat them with shellac paint (eg zinsser BIN) or oilbased undercoat. then emulsion again

They might be cooking fat, so long as they are only small spots and they dont peel when you rub them then all should be fine.

The thing is they're on the ceiling so can't be cooking fat, and they were there before the kitchen went in!

I will try that paint and see what happens.
