Repair to previously oiled beech worktop

I'm trying to re oil a beech worktop where I sanded out a small stain but find the sanded area won't take the new oil. I am using Colron Danish oil applied with a cloth. The finish is really flat in the sanded area - Must have put at least 6/7 coats on now but it just won't absorb the oil and stays as flat as when I first sanded it.
Any ideas would be appreciated
