We have recently moved in to an old house, which the previous owner was a bit of a DIY and reclomation freak, the whole of the downstairs hall & dining room has a block parquet flooring, which we were told he had aquired from an old Salvation Army hall.
The problem is that it has been laid so badly, we need to relay it. I will need to lift the blocks and remove the bitumen from the back and re sand all of the faces and then relay, once I have boarded all of the floors, I big task I know, but it will be worth it in the end I hope.
I have started to remove the majority of the bitumen from the reverse by scraping it off, and sanding the faces.
I propose to relay it all in a better pattern and then belt sad it so that it is all level.
What I want to know is what adhesive do I need to use to re stick it down?
All advice is greatly welcomed.
