Old sash weights....worth anything?

I've just stripped down an old sash window and recovered 4 pretty large weights from the pockets.

Anyone know if they're worth anything and where I can get rid of em?

Was wondering what I might get at a local scrap metal yard.

Unfortunately I think they are iron as opposed to lead which as far as I know doesn't sell for the same value

Took out 20 today. I gift them to the scrap yard, Its nice just to be able to get rid of some rubbish for free.

Funnily enough although lead is more valuable when thinking in scrap value cast iron weights tend to fetch more than the lead ones.

Well there were quite a few from closer to home but yes it is surprising as presumably as those in the link have been sold someone was happy to pay the postage.
