My installer has given me a quote for a new Baxi 105he combi, 7 rads and thermostat valves.
His quote is based on him having the old system, boiler, rads.

Is it normal for the installer to base his quote on him taking my old system?

What would he do with it?

More to the point, what would yo do with it if he left it, apart from make half a dozen trips to the skip to get rid of it. Its easier if he disposes of it.

The scrap cpper is worth a little pocket money to him, maybe £20 or so.

Let him have it and save you the hassle. :D

it seems strange that some one puts in a quote for £%^&* (thousands) and will only do it if he can the £20.00 pounds worth of copper.....
its not worth the hassle (alright i collect old copper pipes but i dont quible over the above)

I think your reading it all wrong.

I assume that as we all know we have to pay to remove/carry waste, this guy has made the point that it includes removing the old system/rubbish.

A secondhand combi might be worth something for spares if it's working, what's he taking out?
