One Strike filler instead of joint compound for repair?

I've got a small area in the kitchen ceiling to patch due to a leak in the bathroom above. I ordered my materials to be delivered but when they arrived I didn't get the jointing compound I ordered. However I have a big tub of One Strike filler on hand. Would that work as a substitute with paper tape? Or is it totally the wrong stuff?
 
You can certainly try and report back. The chance of someone else who tried exotic combinations is unlikely. What you have there is more a filler. Where as jointing compound is an adhesion paste. The product information indicates you just fill the hole:
