Hi
I've got the following light switches at the top and bottom of my stairs:

Top: dimmer switch with blue cable into L1, red cable into C and a couple more (earth?) wires attached. Nothing going into L2.

Bottom: two separate cables coming in, both with just red, white and blue wires feeding into a lego like switch thing. I've got a dimmer switch to fit to this one with terminals L1, L2 and C.

The top switch worked fine until I started messing with the bottom switch and swapping the wires around. Now I've messed around with it and neither work. I've checked and the actual switches are OK.

Any idea how to wire them to get them to work as a two way switch (or at least get the top switch working again)?

Thank you!

Never mind that, the fundamental circuitry is wrong. You cannot have two dimmer switches controlling the same light. Thats probably why its not working . . .

Red, white and blue?! Theres three different colour codes to start with!

The standard colour combination (post war) for three core cable was
red white and blue so its very likely thats what you've got.
I'll bet there's no earth wire in that one? I hope you are not installing metal fittings!!
