Only a cold water supply available

I have an old Hoover Vulcan (8yrs approx). It wants H and C supplies to it but I only have a C supply available. I am in a rental property so cannot install a H supply. When activated water runs straight through the machine, as if it is waiting for the water to heat up. I very much doubt that there is an onboard heater on this machine, and just trying to run it on a cold cycle with the C supply connected creates the same problem.

Please help, I'm running out of underwear!

OK great, I'll get a Y adaptor in there ASAP. Thanks for your help, appreciated. No I haven't read the part about non-UK appliances, I'll have a look for it now.
