It would be bizarre if BS 1363, being a product standard, poached BS 7671's territory by trying to make rules about the installation.

I agree totally. As you are aware, it was eric, not me, who (in a valiant attempt to identify some sort of rule/regulation/Standard which supported the "myth"!) suggested that it might!

As far as I can find out there is a minimum size for the terminals with BS1363 but no maximum and if you can physical get 6 wires in the socket you can have 4 spurs from the same socket.
I have tried three forums and no one can find any regulations limiting the number of spurs taken from one point.

Agreed, provided one isn't, or doesn't feel. restricted by what the socket manufacturer may say about 'terminal capacity'.
That doesn't surprise me at all since, as I've been saying, I don't believe that there is any such regulation.
