I have an Oil fired combi and with the massive rises am looking to save cash - always foccusses the mind eh!

As a result I have turned down radiators in the rooms least used.
Fitted a wireless stat in the downstairs hallway, was in the dining room that we never use and thus now have the radiator on very low.

Q: the open radiator is currently in the airing cupboard, would it make more sense for that to have a TRV fitted and the open radiator to be the one in the downstairs hallway where the room stat is?

Logic isn't my strong point! :|

The rad in the room with the room stat is recommended to be open as you suggest. If it has a trv, just remove the head.As for the small rad in the A/C,it can be left as is.

Thanks GasMan.

By leaving the airing cupboard on will surely mean that it will continue to heat up and result in a waste of energy (two open rads)?

or, is it that systems will favour any other 'open' radiator before that one?

Thanks.
