Morning all,
What are people's opinions on the best way to run my boiler? It's a 20 year old Zaegel-Held oil boiler powering hot water and the central heating. Central heating is a basic radiator system. No controls on the boiler as such other than heating on or off - and then strength of heat on a dial. My question is, what do you think uses less fuel when I use the heating? Leaving the boiler on four all the time - radiators stay lukewarm, takes the edge of the cold, just turning it up (usually to 8) when really needed OR turning heating off and just firing up to 8 when needed from cold. There is no thermostat in any room/on radiator or timer on the system. It's used manually when we feel cold.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks

Oddly enough I did, I found one reply regarding a gas boiler that said try it for a few days and see - given I can't see my tank, I thought I might just ask for some opinions.

But hey thanks for trying.
