Wow! If that story is correct, then seems some people in Romania don’t understand what their population have been doing for years in other countries.
And a Roman Catholic Priest stirring it up. So much for love thy neighbour

That's not racism. It's quite reasonable for locals to object to the use of immigrant workers when local employment is 2%.

Racism is, for example, the kind of things that happened in the USA during the racial segregation years, such as lynching.

Whereas ethnic hatred is the sort of thing that happened in Nazi Germany, and in York.

Again, rightly and probably wrongly, it's the way life works, humans are tribal, we have a paper thin veneer we call society, but really we're just animals. Fortunately, my, umm, not sure what he is, is romanian, good bloke, I'd defiantly have to get an "in" from him, but it's the same everywhere, anyone who suggests it's not is either deluded or a liar.

I agree with that but I read it that local UNEMPLOYMENT was less than 2%. Have I got that right?

Yes, that is what was printed, which maybe is a typo.

[local unemployment was "higher than 2%".]

My mistake, sorry. I should have put UNemployment.

It is wrong to employ foreign workers when you have any of your own population unemployed.

It is wrong, stupid and downright immoral to employ foreign workers when you have any of your own population unemployed, when those unemployed are being paid taxpayers money for being unemployed.

Say.. there's a job going as a specialist, pioneering surgeon.
Nobody in the UK to fill the void to help save lives in the UK.
I'm unemployed but I am a UK citizen.
Should I do it?

Canada had a policy that any job had to be offered to a Canadian first.

Well I went to a dinner party two weeks ago apart from my wife, myself and a french friend there were no other people with white skin there.

The hosts were Indian all the other guests were black or brown skinned.

Of course some silly people on here think I'm a right wing racist, because I think membership of the EU is damaging to this soverign nation.

And somehow they equate dislike of the dictatorial EU as disliking the European people's ....they are limited intellect left wing morons, they really are.

I can't be racist I've just bought some Staffordshire oat cakes from sainsbury's !!!
