Well, in the early eighties, I got a job as a mechanic in Cape Town in a VW/Audi/Porsche dealership. I went over with about a dozen other Brits to work for the same company. The only reason we got the jobs was because there weren’t enough skilled South Africans to fill the vacancies. My girlfriend (now my wife) also got a job over there because she was a typist, skilled in the use of a particular typewriter or pc or something and she got a job training others up. Just because there are people that are unemployed it doesn’t mean that they are capable of filling any vacancy that is needed. BTW, apart from the weather it was a Shiite country to live in, we didn’t much like the Afrikaners so after a year we upped sticks, jumped on a plane to Durban, got on a ship and came home. Had to sneak off though as I was on a two year contract and it would have cost a lot (repay flights, bonuses, termination of contract fees etc) to jack it in properly. Sod 'em!My mistake, sorry. I should have put UNemployment.
It is wrong to employ foreign workers when you have any of your own population unemployed.
It is wrong, stupid and downright immoral to employ foreign workers when you have any of your own population unemployed, when those unemployed are being paid taxpayers money for being unemployed.
