Hi,

My alarm went off last night, checked everywhere and all seemed OK. Reset alarm and 10 minutes later the same zone sounded again, had another walk around no problems.
Omitted the zone and went to bed, in the morning omitted all zones except the one which kept sounding, after 10 minutes it went off, tried it again and it went off after 10 minutes.

The zone is my garage it has a white plastic plate on door and frame assume this is magnetic and the roller door has a large plate on the floor and a bracket above.

Any ideas please.

Do the Flush Door Contacts stop working over a period of time and could this be the problem.

The alarm has been fitted for over 10 years with no problem, I checked the flush door contact and shows no sign of water. The roller door contact wiring looks fine in junction box but cannot check the connection on the plate as it is stuck to the floor, could this be where the problem is.

As the alarm system is well established does this rule out misaligned, if not what do you mean by misaligned.

door dropped or moved or warped creating a larger gap ? if there is two contacts on the zone link one out to find out the faulty one.

Do a walk test, go into the garage and wobble the doors...

Sometimes, especially on roller doors, the bottom of the door can slide sideways and the magnet (bracket..?) can shift from it's sweet spot. Check the alignment.

I once saw a roller shutter contact that had been rotted away by industrial vehicle cleaner. This stuff can be pretty alkaline and will rot aluminium away and expose the reed.

Check the concealed/flush contact in the frame for loose connections and/or water ingress. Shake the door gentle and listen for a rattling magnet - it's not unheard of for the magnet to drop off the bottom of the plate, especially if the door needs a good slam!

The problem seems to be the flush contact as when i removed this from the system the alarm did not go off.
So will try replacing this tomorrow.

Thanks for all the help.
