Ornaments plsced on water based gloss

Hello all,
I am painting parents house snd have come to psint the window sills.
Would water based paint be durable enough to withstand ornaments on top, Or should I use oil based?

Water based will be fine.

They will be ok but I do recall a few years ago, a customer specified waterbased eggshell for his woodwork (against my advice) and he was annoyed that his keys and coins used to leave black marks on the window sill near his front door. I seldom use waterbased wood finihes so i do not know if WB gloss will have the same problem.
