Hi,

We've had our old pine doors chemically stripped. I've sanded them up and applied osmo door oil to one of the doors over the weekend. The oil has really darkened the wood a lot.

Does anyone know if the doors will lighten up again as the oil dries? I applied the first coat yesterday and haven't applied a second coat yet as the door has gone so dark.

Thanks

That is because the wood is old, worn, knocked, bruised, aged, and spent some time in a stripping tank which really hammers the wood it all makes for a darker finish the stripping tank can actually turn wood green or whats called "Honey couloured".wax finishing can be a lighter colour, test patches are allways useful.
